Am 14.05.2025 erschien in der Börsen-Zeitung ein Artikel über PAUL Tech, dem Unternehmen, das “Wohnungen ohne hohe Investitionen CO2-neutral" macht.

On May 14, 2025, the Börsen-Zeitung published an article about PAUL Tech, the company that makes “homes CO2-neutral without high investments”. The main topic of the interview with Sascha Müller, CEO of PAUL Tech AG, is the smart sector coupling PAUL Net Zero, which is currently being successfully installed in existing properties in various cities.

Stranded assets pose a major threat to the real estate sector

In an interview with Börsen-Zeitung, Sascha Müller emphasizes that a large part of the German residential property portfolio is at risk of becoming stranded assets in the coming years - i.e. properties that will massively lose market value or can no longer be sold due to poor energy efficiency and regulatory requirements. Older apartment buildings that have neither been modernized nor upgraded in terms of energy efficiency are particularly affected.

Smart technology instead of full refurbishment

According to Müller, the central lever lies in the boiler room: instead of expensive measures such as façade insulation, PAUL relies on AI-controlled heating control combined with high-performance heat pumps and photovoltaics, which are based on existing infrastructures. According to Müller, this allows buildings to be heated in a completely CO₂-neutral way - without the owners having to invest any capital.

Great demand for PAUL Net Zero

The company is focusing in particular on medium-sized, capital market-oriented housing companies and is currently targeting around 11 million residential units in B, C and D locations at sites where heat pumps can be easily integrated.

The aim is to have converted at least 20,000 residential units to Net Zero by the end of 2025. However, due to the current momentum in the market, Müller says that there is already a cushion of orders for 100,000 residential units with a total volume of 1.5 billion euros in the form of preliminary contracts and letters of intent.
